Designing for Brokers:
Tools to Guide Clients from Search to Signature 🔑 🤝

In 2024, Propodo—a leading Israeli real estate tech firm—acquired Agente Imóvel in Brazil, a platform known for helping buyers discover properties, calculate mortgage estimates, and assess property value.

Post-acquisition, I was brought in to lead the development of a new mortgage experience built around real estate brokers. The concept: enable brokers to invite clients to apply for home loans through top lending partners, track progress, and earn commissions on referrals.

The challenge was creating a solution that placed brokers at the heart of the home buying journey. Our product gave them the tools to guide clients through every step, with visibility into application status, competitive loan options, and performance metrics—all within an intuitive dashboard.

New Feature: Definition + Goals 🎯

Agente Imóvel is transforming the broker experience with a new ecosystem that enables brokers to share unique, trackable mortgage offer tickets with their clients—ensuring seamless support at every stage.

Through the new broker dashboard, brokers can manage the entire application process in one place, send loan invitations, and track both application status and residual income over time.

To support this initiative, a new conversion-optimized landing page will be launched on the Agente Imóvel website, designed to educate brokers about the offering and attract a new wave of users to the platform.

Laying the Groundwork for Integration 🧭

Understanding the placement of the new feature within the Agente Imóvel ecosystem required a deep dive into the existing architecture, so I created a framework that allowed me to map out the product and engage stakeholders in meaningful discussions. This not only ensured alignment but also guided smarter, more cohesive design decisions. To complement this, I developed a journey map to visualize how the new experience would unfold in practice and to surface any blind spots.


From Concept to Clarity: Visuals That Moved the Conversation Forward

By turning stakeholder requirements into quick prototype iterations, I created a framework for decision-making. These visuals helped stakeholders visualize trade-offs, surface overlooked functionality, and agree on priorities early. This significantly reduced friction later in the design process and ensured that our high-fidelity UI had a solid foundation.


Streamlining the Workflow for Everyday Use

By engaging directly with stakeholders, I uncovered which data points mattered most to brokers in their daily workflow. This allowed us to reduce dashboard input fields from 11 to just 5—streamlining the interface without sacrificing functionality. I also identified friction in the client referral process and introduced a self-service form, enabling brokers to share a simple link and save time while improving data accuracy.


Going Beyond Delivery to Shape Strategy

As I worked through the planned designs, I saw a missed opportunity to strengthen the rollout. I proposed an additional conversion-driven landing page tailored to brokers—positioning the new feature with clarity and purpose. After building out prototypes and gaining alignment, we launched it as part of the final product, giving the team a sharper tool for driving adoption.



Outcomes That Outpaced Investment

The feature went live after two rounds of iteration, giving brokers control over a new revenue pathway. It’s already generating measurable value: the company has recouped its implementation investment and is now scaling support based on its early success. The initiative positioned both brokers and the business for sustained financial impact.
